Whether the procedure is surgical or nonsurgical, more and more men are getting onboard to take advantage of what an improved appearance can mean to them personally and professionally.

Recovery

Again, recovery from cosmetic surgery does not really differ between men and women. However, it does take time to heal and men can sometimes underestimate how fast they will bounce back to their presurgery comfort and energy levels. A man should not take part in any sports or exercise until his surgeon clears him to do so. Jumping the gun can interfere with proper scar formation and other healing.

For most procedures, a man can return to work in about a week. However, for surgery such as face lift and rhinoplasty, a man may not be able to use cosmetics to hide any residual bruising the way a woman can. In any event, a man should make sure to protect all incisions and treated areas with a good sun screen that has a high SPF number. Incisions will not heal well if they get too much sun exposure.
